Sr. Engineer – Design / Asst. Manager – Design

About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and innovative Design Engineer / Assistant Manager – Design to join our Design & Development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading mechanical structural design projects from concept to production, ensuring high-quality design output and documentation. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse mechanical systems and vehicle-based equipment, providing technical leadership and design expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop mechanical structural designs and related manufacturing drawings
- Create new concept designs using 3D CAD Solid Edge software
- Handle complete design projects, including large assembly modeling in 3D CAD environments
- Prepare and manage Bills of Material (BOM) and Revision Control for drawings
- Manage and execute ECN/ECR processes and drawing releases using PLM (Teamcenter)
- Prepare detailed design documentation, calculations, and reports
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for smooth project execution
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to design engineers and technologists
- Participate in design reviews and ensure adherence to quality standards
- Understand design input/output requirements and ensure timely design deliverables
Technical Knowledge & Exposure:
- Good understanding of engineering material selection and load calculations
- Familiarity with drive system design, including propeller shafts, PTOs, and pulleys
- Basic knowledge of vehicle hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems
- Awareness of bought-out components such as vacuum pumps, blowers, and high-pressure jetting pumps
- Exposure to PLM and ERP systems (Oracle NetSuite, SAP preferred)
Preferred Industry Experience:
Candidates with design experience in any of the following areas will be preferred:
- Suction Excavators, Vacuum Trucks, Fire/Foam Trucks
- Liquid Waste Management Products
- Truck Superstructures – Load Bodies, Tippers, etc.
- Heavy Machinery & Construction Equipment
Software Proficiency:
- CAD Software: Solid Edge, Siemens NX
- PLM: Teamcenter
- ERP Systems: Oracle NetSuite / SAP
Eligibility Criteria:
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering

– Minimum 5+ years for Sr. Design Engineer
– Minimum 10+ years for Asst. Manager – Design
