Quality Engineer – Machine Shop (Automotive Industry)

About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer with hands-on experience in a Machine Shop environment within the Automotive Industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring consistent product quality through inspection, documentation, and process control in line with IATF 16949 standards. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to industry-specific quality systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily in-process and final inspection of machined components
- Conduct incoming inspection of raw materials and bought-out parts
- Maintain and update IATF 16949 documentation and quality records as per standards
- Conduct vendor/supplier performance reviews and ratings
- Support root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for quality issues
- Participate in internal and external audits as per IATF schedules
- Ensure accurate reporting, recording, and closure of non-conformities
- Coordinate with the production team to maintain and improve process quality standards
Eligibility Criteria:

Qualification:
– B.E. Mechanical / Automobile with minimum 3 years’ experience in a Machine Shop
– OR Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 5 years’ experience in a Machine Shop

Industry Preference:
– Candidates with experience in Automotive Component Manufacturing
– Exposure to IATF 16949 Certified Companies preferred
Key Skills Required:
- In-process and final inspection of machined parts
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, etc.)
- Working knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality systems
- Supplier and vendor quality management
- Strong analytical and documentation skills
